Introduction: An underrated or underappreciated NBA player is essentially a solid player that doesn’t receive enough love or credit for what they do. Being underrated or underappreciated is all up to the NBA fans or even the NBA, meaning that if you’re a good player and if NBA fans or the NBA don’t really know or care about you, you are considered underappreciated. If you haven’t already noticed, this season (2021) there are a lot of underappreciated NBA players that are contributing to their team more than ever, whether its offense or defense. For this series, I am going to be talking about 10 underappreciated/underrated NBA players that deserve more credit for their hard work. (Note: this is not a list that is sorted from least underrated to most underrated, it is just underrated players in general)

  1.         Muggsy bogues blocked 39 shots in his career           Muggsy Bogues was the shortest NBA player to ever play in the NBA. Standing at 5 ‘3, he blocked 39 shots throughout his 14 year career. One of those blocks was on Patrick Ewing who is 7 feet tall, and a hall of famer center. His career high in blocks is 2 blocks back in 1989 vs the NETS, which is exceptionally well for an NBA player that is 5’3. 

  2. Steven Adam has 17 siblings Usually we think that 4 or 5 siblings are a lot to have nowadays.  Well -   NBA player Steven Adams has 17 siblings, which is absolutely  extraordinary. Steven Adams is known for his time in Oklahoma City, his strength, and his roughness.  Out of all the siblings ,  he is the youngest. Steven Adams’s father (Sid Adams) fathered his eighteen children with five women. People say that he actually has twenty-one children with six different women. Steven Adams biological mother is  Lilika Nguamo. Additionally,  Steven Adams was born on July 20 th 1993.  Steven Adams isnt the only famous athlete in the family. He has a sister named Valerie Adams, and she is a track and field athlete.   The NBA is 75 years old (2021), and as an NBA fan I know its important to know about our history. The NBA is filled with weird occurrences, players, awards, and facts you may not know. So, this blog I am going to be writing about facts that most NBA fans are unaware of.     3. Air Jordan’s were banned from the NBA during 1985     Jordan is a basketball company founded by Michael Jordan that first came out in 1985. Today, it is one of the most successful clothing and shoe company, and is loved by many Athletes, and citizens. Back then, there was a strict rule that NBA players were only allowed to wear shoes that matched their uniform and jerseys on court. Early Air Jordan’s used to only come in red and white combinations, and NBA commissioner David Stern did not allow it because it matched the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors colors of their team.   The 2021 NBA season is different. Weird, actually. Its kind of ironic to think about, primarily because many more NBA players are averaging great numbers, the ones that have been living in 2 nd place their whole lives are averaging even better an anticipated. Did you realize this? Players like Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, De Aaron Fox, Nikola Jokic, and Donovan Mitchell are averaging higher numbers than expected this season. We also did not really expect NBA stars like Anthony Davis or James Harden to settle down this season, and focus on other aspects of their game. But there is one player than has been mostly unheard of until the 2020/21 season, and his name is Bradley Beal.
