NBA Finals - My predictions

The Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors have made the NBA finals, as making the Finals is a huge moment many NBA players and teams wish for. Many people on the media are saying that these teams were built up over the years, instead of "bought" teams, which truly shows how important this moment is to Warrior and Celtics fans.

BOSTON CELTCS:

- The Boston Celtics have dynamic young duo Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown. This duo has been averaging 40+ points combined throughout their playoff performances this season, and they both can shoot effectively, and can drive into the paint at any given time. Warriors have to make sure they cover the perimeter defensively, and always search for paint defenders to get on Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum if they were to drive to the basket.

- Additionally, Warriors have to worry about point guard Marcus Smart,  who can shoot the ball effectively, and can play make among the perimeter to a high degree of effectiveness. Marcus Smart is one of the best defensive players in the NBA, and he won DPOY this season. This shows how elite of a perimeter defender he is, Warriors will have tough times offensively if they are going against a player like Marcus Smart.

- Celtics have Al Horford and Robert Williams, both players are effective on grabbing offensive rebounds and going into the paint area strong offensively. Al Horford, however, can also effectively shoot the 3 ball. Al Horford and Robert Williams are both elite paint defenders, who can grab rebound, block shots, and make good defensive rotations and decisions. Sadly though, Robert Williams is currently injured and wont arrive back in the NBA finals in a couple of games, which will definitely affect the Celtics defensively.

WARRIORS:

- Warriors have long known and loved duo, the Splash Brothers. Stephen curry and Klay Thompson is arguably one of the best team orientated and chemistry teammates in the NBA ever. Both players are one of the best shooters of all time, Stephen curry can play make effectively, dribble effectively, and both can take it to the rim. This postseason, Stephen curry and Klay Thompson have been averaging more than 8 three pointers a game, which shows how much of a threat both players are, when they shoot the 3 ball. Against this dynamic duo, Celtics have to make sure they guard the perimeter always, and to keep an eye on there off ball movement.

- Warriors have a lot of young talent such as Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, and others that make an impact offensively. Celtics have to make sure to guard the paint and perimeter. well against these players, because they can go to the rim with effectiveness.

- Warriors have defensive superstar Draymond Green who is also effective on the offensive side. Draymond Green can shoot the ball at any given time, and he has elite playmaking skills. Celtics have to be prepared for Draymond's toughness and playmaking on the offensive side. Draymond is also a tough defender, he is the best defender in the paint and on the perimeter on the Warriors.

Winner of the NBA Finals (Prediction):

Golden State Warriors in 7.

I think that the Warriors will beat the Boston Celtics, although both teams are both equally good on the offensive side, and defensive side. I predicted that the Warriors would win the NBA Championship due to these players on the Warriors, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. These 3 veterans are not only elite, but they have more playoff experience than the young players on the Celtics, such as Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown. Afterall, this trio went to the NBA finals multiple times this past decade, and won most of their titles. With veterans like these on the Warriors, they know how to perforce under tense conditions, and they know how to be clutch and play well during the proper time.

Additionally, this trio has more chemistry than any of the other players on the Celtics, as Draymond, Steph, and Klay coordinate very well on the floor, and they know what they are doing. Don't get me wrong, Celtics are also elite and they have built a team over the years that are worthy for the NBA finals, but the current players are mostly younger and lack the experience during the post season compared to the Warriors group, and most of the players haven't even been to the finals. This experience will be pressuring and new for the Celtics, they haven't been to the NBA finals in over 10 years.

I hope you enjoyed todays blog and my prediction, enjoy the finals this year! -Awab Asif
